Alice Krige is a South African-born actress who has had a successful career in both film and television.
She was born on June 28, 1954, in Upington, South Africa. Krige began her acting career in the late 1970s, predominantly working in theater in South Africa and later in London.
In 1981, she made her film debut in the movie "Chariots of Fire," in which she played a minor role. However, it was her portrayal of the Borg Queen in the film "Star Trek: First Contact" in 1996 that brought her international recognition and acclaim. Her role as the Borg Queen earned her a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Krige has appeared in various other films, including "Ghost Story" (1981), "King David" (1985), "Sleepwalkers" (1992), and more recently in "Thor: The Dark World" (2013) and "Star Trek: Picard" (2020). She has also made numerous guest appearances in popular television shows such as "The Twilight Zone," "ER," "Criminal Minds," and "Bates Motel."
Aside from her film and television work, Krige has also continued to be active in theater. She has performed in various plays, including "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "King Lear," and "The Cherry Orchard."
